NST and NIT is a comprehensive program of soft tissue manipulation techniques that balance the central nervous system (brain, spinal cord and nerves) with the structure and form of the musculoskeletal system.
Treatment is used to locate and release spasms and hypercontraction in the tissues. Gentle touch allows the muscles and ligaments surrounding the spine to relax, permitting bones to shift back into alignment, which restores proper biomechanics and flexibility to the tissue, rebuilds the strength of injured tissues and assists venous and lymphatic flow.
NST is based on neurological laws that explain how the central nervous system maintains homeostatic balance. At homeostasis nerves transmit impulses very slowly. Injury, trauma, postural distortion, or stress cause nerves to speed up their transmission, inhibiting equilibrium and making the body vulnerable to pain and dysfunction.
I offer a variety of very sophisticated and medically verified approaches towards the most difficult chronic body misalignments and pain. I have great success treating migraine headaches and any neuro-skeletal problems. Treatment includes, but is not limited to: Neuromuscular Structural Realignment, Neuro-Skeletal Realignment, Neurofunctional Realignment, LLD laser for pain and tissue healing, and Shockwave Therapy.
Taking all of my courses, I combine everything I know into my therapy when needed. As I first started out, I wanted to specialize in spinal injury massage. Since completing NMT 8 (St. John Neuromuscular Therapy Seminars) and then the Masgutova Neurosensorimotor Reflex IntegrationSM (MNRI®), my whole process of looking at a person — how they stand compared to their posture — has changed drastically. I am getting results faster, and the patient can see and feel the results as I work.
In 2005 my work achieved the status of a truly integrated and effective system, and was given the name Neuromuscular Specific Treatment (NST). The qualities which make the NST style so unique set it apart from all other interpretations of others' work currently being taught. NST is clearly and emphatically in a class of its own.
“Muscles move the bones — bones don't move muscles.”
The nerves in our spinal column are very sensitive to pressure and stress. When the spine becomes misaligned it stresses the nerves, compromises their normal impulses, and changes function throughout the body. Assessment is focused on the relationship of the head to the neck and the rest of the spine — the first vertebra (Atlas) must be in line with the head, as well as the vertebra below (Axis).
Neuromuscular Specific Technique (NST) is based on principles of the Lovett reactor and movement patterns (biomechanics): a soft tissue manipulation and joint mobilization. A light touch and controlled assist on movement of the first and second vertebrae in the neck is designed to restore balance to the spine, influencing the whole spine, body balance, the brain stem and the central nervous system.
Whiplash: the treatment normalizes the position of the atlas mechanism using soft tissue mobilization techniques designed to relieve pressure on the brain stem, where vital pain centers exist. Distortion of the upper cervical anatomy dramatically influences conditions such as headaches and migraines, irritable bowel syndrome (IBS), the formation of scoliotic patterns, speech distortion patterns, and hearing disorders.
Complex TMJ: the treatment is designed to eliminate the structural distortions that work their way up the postural chain. The abnormal pull of muscles in the neck, shoulder and spine can affect the temporomandibular joint (TMJ) — and abnormal occlusion can in turn cause tension in the neck and shoulders and distortions in the cranium.
Shockwave therapy is a non-invasive treatment that stimulates the body's natural healing process. It relieves pain and promotes healing of injured tendons, ligaments, and other soft tissues by releasing growth factors in the injured tissue. It is used for tendinopathy and difficult-to-heal ligament injuries, and focused shock waves can break up calcium deposits built up in a tendon.
Low Level Laser devices are used for pain relief of the following conditions:
The cup massage is a simple treatment that gives impressive results. It releases rigid soft tissue through negative pressure and suction, helps drain excess toxins and fluids, loosens adhesions and lifts the connective tissue — increasing blood flow to skin and muscles.
Benefits include loosening tight muscles, relaxing the entire body, diminishing chronic pain, lowering blood pressure, enhancing skin tone, more restful sleep, better concentration, a stronger immune system, and increased range of motion and flexibility. A session lasts about 10–20 minutes.
Methods such as Visceral Manipulation have been part of the medicinal cultures in Europe and Asia since prerecorded times. Manual manipulation of the internal organs has long been a component of therapeutic systems in Oriental medicine, and practitioners in many parts of the world work with the internal organs and their functions as part of treatment.
I was born and raised in a small town in Poland. From an early age I always wondered how I could help other people get well through touch.
To achieve that I entered the University of Physical Education in Katowice, Poland, where I received extensive education in anatomy, pathology, physiology, kinesiology, biochemistry, biomechanics and psychology. I moved to Canada in 1989.
I received my registration for massage therapy in 1993 after graduating from the D'Arcy Lane Institute, London, Ontario. 1994 was a big year for me, when I moved to the beautiful city of Calgary and completed the entry exams to join the Massage Therapist Association of Alberta.
Piotr has been practicing manual and massage therapy since 1993 — over 30 years of clinical experience.
My son, Malcolm, 9-years old at the time, was healed of an 11-month constant headache over 10 years ago through the Lord using the gifted hands, skill, insight and understanding of Piotr Gorecki. I will never forget the miracle of that day in September 1998!
The journey was long and steep before God directed us to Piotr. Malcolm's headache came with a flu virus, but didn't get better. Over 11 months the constant pain in his forehead reached a level of 7 or 8 out of 10. Visits to family doctors, chiropractors, a cranial sacral therapist, neurologists and emergency departments brought no relief, despite the x-rays, CT scans and MRI. Even a visit back to Toronto, to the Hospital for Sick Children, where Malcolm had a lumbar puncture and surgery to insert an Intracranial Pressure Probe, provided only the welcome assurance of the absence of any brain tumor. On our return to Calgary, I massaged Malcolm every night for 5 months, again with no results.
After 10 months of Malcolm suffering constant pain, a good friend told me of a Neuromuscular Massage Therapist, Piotr Gorecki. A few weeks later her husband phoned explicitly to tell me that Piotr had told him to get me to bring Malcolm to see him. I immediately phoned for an appointment. After about 10 minutes of Piotr treating Malcolm, his pain level reduced to about 5 or 6 out of 10. Ten to fifteen more minutes of treatment completely took the pain away! For the first time in 11 months Malcolm was pain-free! Malcolm has continued free of any such headache for over 10 years now!

“I had developed a serious left rotator cuff problem which began with a seemingly innocuous repetitive strain. Gradually there was increasing pain and loss of strength and mobility. I tried rest, exercise, stretching, physio, acupuncture, yoga. After 6 months, I could not lift my arm much above shoulder level. Related back muscles knotted so badly that I woke at night with a sharp aching that wouldn't let me sleep. Luckily, a friend referred me to Mr. Gorecki. He really knows his stuff! From the first treatment, I had increased mobility with every treatment. After 2 months of treatment once a week, I was close to full mobility again. Now, at the one year mark, I have returned to full activity, no significant pain. I highly recommend Mr. Gorecki's knowledge and expertise.”

My back story began in the fall of 1990 when at the age of 8 I suddenly developed severe back pain. A bone scan revealed a tumor on my T11 vertebrae; surgery removed the tumor and half the vertebra. In 1997 I developed surgical site pain, diagnosed as degenerative arthritis, and in April 1998 I had a spinal fusion of T-9 to T-12, followed by 6 months in a half body brace.
In February of 2011 I awoke literally trapped in my bed, with nearly no ability to move from my hips up. Emergency rooms, x-rays and prescriptions brought no answers. At the Canadian Back Institute, my physiotherapist recommended that I also see Piotr Gorecki. When I entered Piotr's office in March 2011 I was back in my brace because otherwise I couldn't walk, sit or stand without excruciating pain. Piotr was confident he could help me. Within 3 weeks I had put the brace away and was able to get along without any pain medication. By the end of a month I was able to sleep through the night. By July I was able to return to the golf course. He is absolutely AMAZING. Over the years I have seen numerous doctors, therapists and practitioners but NO ONE compares to Piotr — he gave me my life back.

When I had a car accident and was rear ended in September, I was booked for Rehabilitation and Physiotherapy for 90 days. The alignment on my neck was damaged and I had terrible back pain for weeks. After various physiotherapy sessions, I was sent to Piotr Gorecki for massage therapy, not expecting much change. This man is incredible. Each session increased my ability to move my neck and the pain in my spine decreased immensely. This is in fact no doubt the very best neuromuscular therapist I have been fortunate to meet.

When I met Piotr for the very first time I was on long term disability for about a year following a car accident and basically “written off” by the insurance company, doctors and therapists. I had seen at least 20 different doctors and specialists. Finally I was told by a psychologist that all of my pain was in my head.
Then about 3 months ago my doctor told me to see Piotr (my last hope). For the first time someone was listening to me, and while I was talking he was doing the assessment. After 2 visits I knew I was wrong to doubt. He is INCREDIBLE. After 7 visits my pain was GONE!!! And as of today: no headache, no back pain, very good sleeping — and most important of all, I HAVE MY LIFE BACK, thanks to this man.
